A Day trip to "KOTILINGESHWARA TEMPLE"
Place History
KOTILINGESHWARA TEMPLE is located in small village Kammansanda. One of the saints had the vision to build a Shiva temple with 1 crore Shiva Lingas. He installed the first Shiva linga in 1980. Devotees followed the same and installed many Shiva lingas. I think there are around 90 Lakh Shiva lingas along with one of the largest Shiva linga in the entire world. which is 108 feet tall. I am one of the Shiva devotees and love to visit Shiva temples. I found this place very calm and more energetic. Installing Shiva Lingas at one place is a unique concept. Temple location is attractive because you find greenery all around you. We made plan suddenly to visit that place and have a look at the beauty of this temple.

Day wise Trip detail -
We both started Journey on 30-04-2018 at 09:45 AM from Marthahalli Bangalore on my Bike.
We took NH75 towards Kolar via Hoskote and I found that the highway was good to keep speed limit up to 100 on Bike.
We took a break at Petrol Pump at 10:50 then started again. After Kolar, we took a route which was little awkward because of the road condition but fortunately, it was a short route to get highway which directly goes to Temple.
We reached the temple at 11:50 and we didn't find more traffic during the trip. There were few vehicles parked and no rush in the temple.
There are some shops before entering the temple and shopkeepers call you to buy garland and Diya. We bought Pooja Samagri.. and kept shoes in a locker. The Locker guy charges 10 Rs for two pairs of shoes.
Before entering the Temple you can wash your hand, face and feet. We had to buy a ticket to get into the temple. It costs 20 rs per person.
Once you enter into the temple you start observing many Shiva Lingas with various sizes. We observed the walls and they were painted in different colours that make temple unique and more attractive.
There are many small temples inside where you do Dharshana without a long queue. The temple is quite peaceful. You can offer prayer to God and then The Poojari asks you to tell your entire family name in front of God.
The first temple you find is Bharma, Vishnu and Mahesh in a temple. You can find a tree where people tie a yellow thread for their wishes and good luck.
